Make Music Portland is a day-long, totally free musical event, aimed at bringing local performers into the spotlight. Along with hundreds of cities around the world, every year on June 21 we ring in the longest day of the year with music and artistry. Join us as we fill local parks, restaurants, backyards, and public and private spaces with hundreds of performances, ranging in style and genre. 

This is a free event. There are no costs to attend any performance, or to come join us making music. In addition, we organize free community events (think jam sessions, musical lessons, and the like) that happen throughout the day on June 21.

Mark Horton, Chris White and Joe Blinick provide the accompaniment while Peggy Horton, Jess Collins and Kristen Coleman provide the vocals. The music will consist of two 40-minute sets of acoustic and electric from several genres: folk, rock and roll classics, blues, and in the second set some sing-along tunes, so people are encouraged to bring their voices and at least their toe-tapping shoes if not their dancing shoes.
